Kenneth E. Dosemagen (1930-2019)

Kenneth E. Dosemagen 88 of Somers passed away on Tuesday October 1, 2019 at Aurora Medical Center.  Born on October 14, 1930 to Bernice (Hein) and Edward Dosemagen, he was the oldest of 6 children.  He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha County.

Kenneth attended Bradford High School.  He was a true handyman.  He started his working career as an automobile mechanic and then as a stranding machine operator for Mac Whyte Wire Rope Company before beginning his active duty in the US Navy aboard the USS Tortuga during the Korean War. After completing his military service Kenneth joined the Kenosha Police Department retiring in 1986 as a Juvenile Detective after 32 years of service.

In May 1959, he married Jina A. Torresin in Kenosha, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.  Their marriage produced 3 children, Louis, Richard and Sharon.

In 2014, he made a memorable trip to Washington DC accompanied by his son, Richard, with the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.  He truly enjoyed the Friday Hero’s Cafe at Festival Foods meeting with his fellow veterans.

When he wasn’t helping his family or friends with their various projects, he loved to be up north, hunting, fishing, tending his apple orchard or telling stories to anyone who would listen.

Kenneth was proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister Mariel (David) Raechal, brothers Gilbert Dosemagen and Thomas Dosemagen and mother- and father-in law, Louis and Maria Torresin, sisters in law Gail Dosemagen, Carol Torresin and Clara Sturino and brother in law Kenneth Ruben

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Jina (Somers WI) children Louis (Linda) Dosemagen, Richard Dosemagen and Sharon (Michael) Zellmer, grandchildren Timothy Dosemagen, Aaron (Bree) Dosemagen, Kenneth (Debbie) Dosemagen and Jennifer (Ryan) Dosemagen brother Gerald Dosemagen and sister Jean Ruben brothers in law Gino Torresin and Louis (Irene) Torresin. Kenneth is further survived by many great grandchildren, cousins, nephews and nieces

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Somers Fire and Rescue and Aurora Medical Center ER staff for their compassionate care of Kenneth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 5, 2019 at 10:30AM at St. Mark Catholic Church in Kenosha. (7117-14th Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Saturday at the church from 9:00AM until the time of mass. Burial will follow at All saints catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
