Glenn Bailey (1927 – 2007)

Glenn N. Bailey, age 80, a resident of Somers WI, died peacefully Monday, June 18, 2007, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 10, 1927 in Racine WI, he was the son of the late Norman C. and Helen O. (Sorenson) Bailey.

He was educated in the public schools of Somers, WI, and attended the Rochester Agricultural School.

He was owner/operator of a dairy farm in Somers for many years, before moving to Reeseville WI where he dairy farmed from 1976 until his retirement in 1996. He returned to Somers in 2004.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Union Grove.

He loved his family, loved spending time with them and was especially proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Alice of Somers; three sons, Dan (Ronda) of Somers; Loren (Marietta) of West Bend; Jay (Debbie) of Racine; one daughter Glenda (Rev. Andy) Straseske of Marshfield WI; thirteen grandchildren, Emily (Justin) Zastrow, Ron (Lauri) Bailey, Nicki (Tony) Kubicki, Kate (Aaron) Taylor, Jenny (Kevin) Craig; Mark, Kira, Nicholas, Brett, and Jordan Bailey; Jacob, Bethany and Chase Straseske, three great grandchildren; Maddie and Josh Bailey and Emmett Craig; and daughter-in- law Bev Bailey of Watertown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Dennis, and three brothers; Jay, Floyd and Gene.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 21, 2007 at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Union Grove. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will take place at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park at 2:15 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Trinity Lutheran Church, Shoreland Lutheran High School, or Wisconsin Lutheran Grade School Lower Grades (Racine).
