Carol Boris

Carol J. (Stiles) Boris, age 78 a resident of Kenosha, passed away Monday June 5, 2017 at the Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie with her family by her side.

Carol was born in Kenosha on June 25, 1938 to the late Earl and Janie Stiles. As a young girl, she helped her parents with growing and selling flowers at the farmers’ market and florists. Carol was educated in Kenosha schools and graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a B.S. in Speech Therapy. She taught speech in both Kenosha and county schools retiring in 2001. She was a member of Delta Zeta and ASHA.

Carol and Richard met attending college and were married on July 27, 1963. They were married for 54 years. They loved to travel. From the eastern seaboard to the western seaboard they visited the cities and National Parks in between. They also traveled to Europe, the UK, China and Italy as well as river cruises along the Rhine and Yangtze Rivers and visiting the Great Wall in China were included. Vacationing in Maui and snorkeling were most memorable. Sarasota, Florida became a second home during the winter months and memories of hours on the beach finding and gathering shark’s teeth and shells were a passion for Carol. Shopping, estate sales, happy hours, attending concerts were fond memories also. Carol loved concerts and plays and enjoyed attending them in cities like New York, London, Chicago, LA, Milwaukee and Sarasota. Fireworks at Milwaukee’s festivals were always a must to attend. Carol had many friends and enjoyed meeting with them for coffee or lunch. She loved reading, Janet Evanovich and James Patterson were her favorites.

Carol was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church since 1953.

Carol is survived by her husband Richard, twin sons Matthew (Yadira) of N. Hollywood CA, Mark (Mary) of Kenosha, daughter Jennifer of Sarasota FL and grandson Steven. She is also survived by nieces Susan (Robert Saftig), Rhonda (Chris Lamont) Renea, and nephews Richard W and Robert Stiles.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Richard K. Stiles.

Funeral services will be held on Friday June 9, 2017 at 11:00AM at Wesley United Methodist Church in Kenosha. (4600 60th Street) Visitation with the family will be on Friday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of services. Interment will be private and take place later at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to either Wesley United Methodist Church or to Hospice Alliance would be appreciated.
