William A. Wilson

William A. Wilson, age 78, of Ocala Florida, formerly of Paddock Lake, passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic/liver cancer on Thursday August 31, 2017 at St. Catherine’s Hospital.

He was born in Chicago on May 9, 1939 to Maurice and Emily (Gatschet) Wilson. On May 10, 1957, he married Patricia Thomas in Chicago. William retired as a proud Union Carpenter of Local 10, working trade shows at Chicago’s McCormick Place. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family, going boating, playing cards/board games, and teasing (antagonizing) his children/grandchildren/greatgrandchildren, but most importantly, spending time with Pat, his loving wife of 60 years. He was a past member of both Christ Lutheran Church in Paddock Lake and Cherokee Village Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village, Arkansas.

William is survived by his wife Pat of Ocala FL, his three daughters; Jean (David) Krueger of Wheatland, Cheryl (Rafael) Betancourt of Kenosha and Kelly Broaddus of Wheatland, as well as his grandchildren; Nicole, Nathan, Missy, Tricia, Sara, Mike, Matt, Jeff, Alicia, April, Molly, Josh and Amelia (along with their significant others) and nine great grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings: Gerald (Carol) Swederski, Ron Swederski, Len (Patti) Swederski, Sue Garfield, Pat Brechel and Sharon (Jim) Caulfield and in-laws Mike (Lori) Thomas, Ron (Carol) Thomas, Bob (Diana) Thomas and John (Halina) Thomas along with many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Preceding William in death were his parents, his brother Bob, his sister Gerri and his great grandson Jasper.

A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held outdoors at Dave and Jean’s Residence (35801 52nd Street Burlington WI) on Saturday September 9, 2017 at noon with services at 1:00PM and a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the American Cancer Foundation or the American Diabetes Foundation.
