Wendy Janas

        Wendy Janas, age 55, a resident of Kenosha, died Friday June 20th 2014 at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.

        Wendy was born on June 5, 1959 in Kenosha to Waldron Hager Johnson and Carol (Martin) Johnson. She was baptized in June of 1959 and confirmed on Pentecost Sunday in 1973. Wendy was educated in the schools of Kenosha.

        Wendy lived in Ohio for 25 years where she worked for Calphalon and she moved back to Wisconsin in 2004. She worked as a staffing coordinator for Right At Home and was chosen Caregiver of the Year in 2006.

        Wendy loved learning and teaching quilt making. She also had a soap making business. She was a happy, joyful person who spread that joy wherever she went.

        Wendy is survived by her mother Carol Martin (John) Potter and by her two daughters; Jennifer Janas of Kenosha and Tracy Janas of ToledoOH as well as by her grandchildren Anthony Meadows, Ian Bach and Gracie Mae Bach. She is further survived by her brothers Jeff Johnson and David (Amy) Zoerner both of Kenosha and her sister Nancy Zoerner Garcia of Kingwood TX and also by her nieces and nephews Vivian Grace Garcia, Timothy Garcia III, and Hunter, Gunnar, Christian and Brody Zoerner as well as many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

        Wendy was preceded in death by her father, and by her paternal grandparents Ruben and Astrid (Hager) Johnson and her maternal grandparents T. George Martin, Jr. and Vivian Steinway Simonds.

        The family would like to thank the staff of Right At Home, the Lombardi Cancer Center, the Aurora Cancer Unit, the Aurora ICU and ER staff and Dr. Haider. We want to especially thank the staff of Hospice Alliance, those at home and those at Hospice House for their loving care.

        A memorial service will be held on Friday June 27, 2014 at 10:00AM at St. Paul’s LutheranChurch (8760-37th Ave.). A time for visiting with the family will take place on Friday at the church from 9:00AM until the time of the service.

        In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.

  • my deepest condolences for your family,words can not express how much we all will miss wendy. she had a warm heart and a beautiful smile. the world lost a wonderful person when wendy left us,she will be sadly mist buy everyone that knew her. R.I.P. wendy i’ll love you always!!!
