Ronald Carlsen

Ronald C. Carlsen, age 71, a resident of Burlington, died Friday March 15, 2013 at Prairie Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin.

He was born on December 20, 1941 in Kenosha Wisconsin to Roy and Gertrude (Williamson) Carlsen. He worked at AMC/Chrysler until his retirement and then worked at MGA Research. Ron was married twice, to Lois Fonk and to Kathryn Kessler. His great joys included fishing at his cottage on the Chippewa Flowage, spending time at the Bristol Shooting Range and working on his wood burning designs. He especially loved the times he spent riding his Harley and spending time with friends and family.

Ron is survived by his son Jeffrey Carlsen, his daughters Suzanne (James) Simpkins and Cathy (Donald) Perrault as well as his grandchildren Matthew (Liz) Simpkins, Melissa (Tom) Ricchio and Andrea (Mark) Stanich. He is further survived by his great grandchildren Tucker Ricchio, Emily Simpkins and Abigale Simpkins as well as his brothers Dennis (LuAnn) Carlsen and Mike (Rose) Carlsen and his sisters Linda Millard and Cindy (David Dieter) Mason.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother Gertrude in 1975 and his father Roy in 1985.

Private Services were held for Ron on Monday March 19th, 2013 with burial following at Burlington Cemetery.

A special thank you goes to all of Ron’s family and friends for their thoughts and prayers. Gratitude also goes to Dr. Haider and staff, Dr. Schmidt and staff and the wonderful Hospice nurses. Ron’s family would also like to thank John and Sue Kessler, Brian and Trish Chappel, and Nasser and Terry Museitif whose friendship Ron cherished.

    We are so sorry for your loss. Your father was a great friend to us and a wonderful man. I know that he is riding his Harley amongst the Stars and looking for the good fishing spots.
