Myron Ferber (1929 – 2011)

Myron “Mike” K. Ferber, 81, of Walworth County, passed away with his loving family at his side on Thursday February 17th, 2011, at Burlington Aurora Memorial Hospital.

He was the son of the late Edna & Rudolph Ferber. Mike was born at home on May 5th, 1929, in Waterford WI. Mike attended schools in Rochester WI. & graduated from Rochester AG School. Mike met Shirley Pollack at a dance in Milwaukee WI. They were married on June 13th,1953. They were blessed with three children, Barbara, Alan and Debbie. Mike was a life-long dairy farmer, he loved farming with his son Alan. Mike & Shirely owned Ferber Farms in the Waterford Wi. area. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, bird watching, and his beloved Green Bay Packers. Years ago Mike and Shirley were avid snowmobilers.

Left to remember Mikes life are his wife of 57 years, Shirley Ferber, and his three children, Barbara (Scott) Bennett, Alan (Barbara) Ferber, Debbie (Gary) Latus. He was also a wonderful grandfather, and could be found, when his grandchildren were small, playing games on the floor with them. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Lisa (Frank) Grzesk, Shannon (Michelle) Bennett, Tiffany (Nickolas) Hanna, Mandy Ferber, Jaymie McCune, Geena Cracchiolo, Nicholas (Betsy) Latus, and Kyle (Nickola) Latus. He was also blessed with three great grandchildren, Frankie Grzesk, Charlotte Kahl, and Jack Latus. Mike is also survived by his sister, Audrey Wigand.

Mikes parents, Rudolph & Edna Ferber, daughter-in-law Laurie Ferber, and sister Myrtle Ferber, preceded him death.

Funeral services for Mike will be held on Monday, February 21st, at St Peters Lutheran Church, in Waterford WI. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank the entire nursing staff at Burlington Memorial Hospital, and a very special thank you to Dr. Stephen Welka for his overwhelming compassion, kindness and support to Mike/dad/grandpa in his final days.
