Mary Brickner (1912 – 2011)

Mary E. Brickner, age 99 a resident of Lyons, passed away Thursday December 15, 2011, at her home.

Mary was born on June 24, 1912 in Lake Geneva WI the daughter of Louis and Mary (Petchak) Jansky.

On April 18, 1936 Mary was united in marriage to Felix “Pep” Brickner at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva WI. Mary was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and choir and St. Rita’s Sodality. She was employed by Honey Bear Farm and Lake Geneva Country Club. Mary and “Pep” made their home in Lyons and opened their home to many visitors. They owned and operated their family business Brickner Bros Livestock Hauling. Mary was known to be loving and caring, was a great cook and was considered by many to be the best baker ever.

Mary is survived by one son Thomas (Judy) Brickner of Lyons WI and one daughter Kathi (Dave) Rex of Burlington WI. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Bob (Tammy) Brickner, Dan (Renee )Brickner of Paddock Lake, Cheri (Craig) Bauer, Tammy (Dave) Christensen, Val (Derrick) Healey, Kim (Dave) Blink and Dave (Kathy) Rex of Lyons. Mary is further survived by thirteen great grandchildren Nicole (Bryon) Thomas, Brian Brickner, Kalli Brickner, Christopher Welch, Cody Bauer, Paige Healey, Daniel Blink, Emily Blink, Benjamin Blink, Breanna Blink, Katie (Steve) Kaiser, David Rex and Nicholas Rex, and one great great grandson Matthew Yanny.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Casmier (Gwen)Jansky, Joseph (Tessie)Jansky, John (Pauline)Jansky, Arthur (Frances)Jansky, and Walter (Florence) Jansky and sisters Gladys (Tony) Arbanas, Vern (Sid) Vorpagel, and Catherine (Jim) McNamara.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 17th 2011 at 11:00AM at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Lyons WI.(1540 Mill Street, Lyons WI 53148) Visitation with the family will take place at the church on Saturday from 10:00AM until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to either St. Joseph Catholic Church or Lyons Fire and Rescue.
