Martha Wenzel (1922 – 2005)

Martha F. (Neisius) Wenzel, age 82 a resident of Racine died Tuesday February 22, 2005 at St. Mary?s Medical Center.

Born on July 2, 1922 in Wycoff MN, she was the son of the late John and Julia (Brunner) Neisius.

She was a loving homemaker and loved gardening, canning, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. No one was ever turned away from her door. She was a loving and caring person and she was loved by many, and a pleasure to know.

She is survived by her 2 sons: Jerome (Beverly) Neisius of Thorp WI and Michael (Roberta) Wenzel of Sturtevant; 7 daughters: Cecelia Johnston, Donna Clark, Odelia “Corky” Wenzel, Patricia (Joseph) Razdick, Jane Siegel, Linda York and Martha Avery and daughter-in-law Karen Wenzel all of Racine; her brother Laverne Neisius of Thorp, WI; sister Julianna Garaffolo of New York; 25 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Julia Neisius; her sister Pauline Roman, and three sons: John Henry Wenzel, Donald Carl Wenzel and Kenneth Wayne Wenzel.

Funeral services for Martha Wenzel will be held on Monday February 28, 2005 at 10:30am at St Richard of Chichester Church (1509 Grand Ave. – Racine). Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, February 27, 2005 at the Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church (625 College Ave ? Racine) from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, and at St. Richard of Chichester Church on Monday February 28, 2005 from 9:30am until the time of service. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery (2510 Kinzie Ave ? Racine) on Monday February 28, 2005 after the funeral service.

Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
