Margaret T. “Peggy” Goff (1922-2019)

Margaret Teresa “Peggy” Goff of Kenosha died peacefully at the age of 96, at Brookside Care Center, on May 29, 2019. Peggy was a farm girl, born in Walworth, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late John DeHaan and Cora (Pranger) DeHaan. From 1943 to 1944, Peggy was married to Capt. Sheldon Heyer and they had one daughter, Karen. From 1949 to 1966, Peggy was married to Joseph O. Goff, Jr. (Bristol). They had three daughters and one son.

Peggy was a member of Spirit Alive Church. She was an exceptional baker, known for her cookies and pies. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, shopping, cleaning, and the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful. Peggy leaves her family members a wonderful legacy of the values of love, laughter, and a strong work ethic. She began working at the age of 12 and worked well into her 80s. After her retirement from 20 years of service at Kenosha Memorial Hospital, she continued working with UpJohn Healthcare, private house cleaning, and the Senior Action Council. Earlier work places included American Motors, Moriarty Curtain Rods, and Higgins’ Hob Nob.

Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph Oscar Goff, III, son-in-law Daniel H. Thomas, brothers William DeHaan and Albert DeHaan, sister Helen Larsen, as well as step-sisters Adrian Armato, Anne Pierce, Greta Krebs, and step brother, Peter Nett. She will be deeply missed by her children: Karen (Goff-Kovach) Thomas, Kathleen Goff, Kristine (Gary) Ziesemer, Kimberly (J. Kyle) Gregory; her grandchildren: Michael Kovach, Shelly (Ken) Eschmann, Jennifer (Bryan Damrow), Renee Thomas, Patrick Thomas, Kelly (Bill) Andrichik, Samantha Ziesemer (Scott Sala), Rebekah Gregory-Sukati (Phumelela Sukati), Emily Gregory, Nicholas Gregory; and her nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her step sister Bertha Krebs.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Brookside Care Center and Hospice Alliance for the excellent care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tremper High School, earmarked for the Joe Goff Memorial Scholarship Fund, or to Spirit Alive Church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 4, 2019 at 11:00AM at Spirit Alive Church in Kenosha. (8760-37th Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
