Louise (Covelli) Bucko

On March 7, 2020, Louise (Covelli) Bucko completed the living of her life of joy, peace, harmony, ease, love, laughter, and variety.

Louise was born July 28, 1941. She was the only daughter of Augie and Margaret Covelli, and the only sister of her one brother Augie Jr. Louise grew up learning from her parents what REAL “customer service” was and how to give it to people. At an early age, she knew she wanted a large family. As a teenager she began dating Jack Bucko. When she shared her want for a large family, he said, “we can do that”. He started talking marriage in their senior year of high school. They were married October 31, 1959 and had one of the largest weddings in the history of Kenosha.

In 1960, the first of their 7 kids were born and the last was born in 1972. They had 2 sons, 3 daughters, and 2 more sons. After getting all kids in school, Louise got her realtors license in the late 1970’s. She became a million-dollar seller in 1979.

Louise and Jack successfully owned and operated Bucko’s Ambulatory Transport for nine years, meeting many amazing people along the way.

Louise enjoyed traveling with the love of her life, especially going down to their “little corner of the world”, Jacksonville, Florida. She also loved going to Maui, Hawaii and Chicago. One of her favorite things to do was take the train to Chicago and spend the day at Navy Pier.

She is survived by her seven children, twelve grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

  • Ryan Johnson says:

I will always remember the way that Jack and Louise, Dan and his brothers and sisters welcomed me into their family with love and open arms. I remember that, as a kid, I could walk in their open door anytime and find quik chocolate milk and oreos in their cupboards to snack on. I will remember Louise’s forever smile and her ability to find everyone’s inner gifts. I will remember the way Jack showed me how to paint and play harmonica and how Louise bought me a giant bubble maker that I thought was the coolest thing in the world. Louise, Jack, Dan, Heidi, Patti, Amy, Timmy, Scott and Todd all have special places in my heart and during this time I am thankful that Jack and Louise are together in Heaven, looking down on the wonderful family they made knowing that together their love made this Earth a little bit better of a place.

To the 7 Bucko kids, if you read this, I love you all and am thinking of you during this time.

  • Patti Bucko says:

My deepest sympathy to the entire Bucko family. Although, I am no longer a part of this family, they have left lasting memories in my heart, which will never be forgotten. Louise always had Thanksgiving at her house. I remember my first Thanksgiving. It was a tradition to go around the table allowing each person to say what they were thankful for. By the end, most of the table had tears in their eyes. Every holiday was a family get together. Each year they got together the group got bigger and bigger, as each of her children got married, then had children. But every holiday, everyone was there. Louise and Jack brought wonderful children into this world. I have never seen a family that is always there for each other. When I married Dan, Louise and Jack gave, my son Ryan, a certificate that made them his grandparents and all Dan’s brothers and sisters, his uncles and aunts. My son felt so loved by the Bucko family. Louise was my rock. She always shared her answer to a concern you may have had, and would say, take from it what works for you. Whenever I needed someone to talk to, Louse was there. She liked to go sit down at the lake to talk. She always took my hand when she was talking to me. I will never forget all the words of wisdom I learned from Louise. She went through so much in her lifetime, but always remained strong and in control. I know Louise and Jack are catching up on everything that has happened since he left. Louise will always be in my heart. I will never forget her or her banana cream pie! I know your loss is great, but your memories of your time with your mom, they will be in your hearts forever.

  • Kevin Sampica says:

My deepest sympathy to the Bucko family for the loss of their mother. Louise was a very kind and strong soul that held the family together. She will be deeply missed. The pain of losing a loved one never seems go away, hopefully the memories of her will help ease the pain that comes with the loss. I was blessed to have know her.
