Keith Thomas (1917 – 2006)

Keith “Skeeter” N. Thomas, age 88 a resident of Kenosha, died Monday January 30, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Home for the Aged.

Born on May 3, 1917 in Gresham Nebraska he was the son of the late Roy and Clara (Olson) Thomas. He was educated in the schools of Gresham Nebraska.

On June 6, 1942 he married Dolores Leinweber at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kenosha. Together they resided for 25 years in White Lake WI before moving back to the Kenosha area in 2005.

Mr. Thomas was employed by American Motors for 10 years, and then at OMC retiring in 1980. Together with his wife, he also owned and operated a appliance repair business for many years.

He was a former member of St. Marks Catholic Church in Kenosha, where he served as a long time usher and volunteer at the Fish Fry. He was also a member of St. James Catholic Church in White Lake WI. He was a County Housing Commissioner in Antigo County. He was an avid outdoorsmen, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved watching and studying birds. He enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and was also a Green Bay Packer Fan, having attended a game at Lambeau Field when he was 86 years of age.

He is survived by his wife Dolores of Kenosha; two sons; Robert M. Thomas of Houston Texas, David J. (Karen) Thomas of Kenosha; one daughter Mary Ann (Dale) Kangas of Racine; five grandchildren; Amanda, Melinda, Steven, Whitney, Dustin, seven great grandchildren; Joshua, Sydney, Trystan, Jayden, Keegan, Nickolas, Emilee, and one brother; Tom (Betty) Thomas of Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Gerald and Grant.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Thomas will be held on Thursday February 2, 2006 at 10:00AM at St. Mark Catholic Church in Kenosha. (7117-14th Avenue) Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 9:00AM until the time of mass. Burial will take place at St. James Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Children’s Hospital of Milwaukee would be appreciated.
