Juanita Engels (1924 – 2005)

Born on November 20, 1924 in Chicago IL she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Gatches) Young.

She came to the Kenosha area as a young girl and was educated in the schools of Kenosha County and graduated from Wilmot High School in 1942. She served in the US Navy from 1944-1946 and was a Yeoman Second Class. She attended and graduated from the Kenosha College of Commerce, and attended the Patricia Stevens School of Fashion and Design.

On June 30, 1956 she married Richard Engels in Kenosha.

She was a long time member of St. Marks Catholic Church and was a member of the Christian Women. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and loved to spend time on the computer.

She was employed by the Leblanc Corporation. The Brookhouse Law Office also employed her for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Dick Engels of Kenosha, and one daughter, Laurie (Mick) Engels of Hainsville IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Juanita will be celebrated on Tuesday May 24, 2005 at 7:00PM at St. Marks Catholic Church in Kenosha. (7117-14th Avenue) Visitation for Juanita will be at the church on Tuesday from 5:30PM until the time of mass. Burial will take place at Southern WI Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Marks Catholic Church.
