James Gonzalez

James Gonzalez Jr., 55, a resident of Kenosha, died Friday, January 5, 2018 at his residence.

James was born in Waukegan IL on October 3, 1962 to James and Roberta (Garcia) Gonzalez Sr. James was the lead custodian at St. Joseph Catholic Academy for seven years. He loved working there and considered them part of his family. James loved working on cars and owned and operated Gonzalez Repair. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears, Bulls and Cubs as well as the Wisconsin Badgers. He loved to cook on the grill at family events. Most importantly he loved his family and grandchildren.

James is survived by his fiancée Lisa Stein, mother Roberta Garcia, son James Gonzalez III of Kenosha, stepson John Joseph Garcia Jr. of Kenosha and daughter Kathy Nyquist of Zion IL and four grandchildren John Joseph Garcia III, Robert James Garcia, Isabelle Garcia and Annalisa Nyquist. He is also survived by two brothers Ruben Gonzalez of Oregon and Manolito Gonzalez of Chicago IL, two sisters Brenda (Marcos) Gonzalez-Christodonte and Donna (Confesor Rivera) Gonzalez and many nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his father James Gonzalez Sr., sister Jeannie Gonzalez and aunt Carmen Gonzalez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church in Kenosha (1300 73rd St.). Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Woman’s Club of Kenosha. (6028 8th Avenue.)

Burial will follow the Mass on Saturday at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park located at 6211 38th St, Kenosha, WI 53144. In lieu of flowers, donations for the family are being accepted at Johnson Bank, 7500 Green Bay Rd, Kenosha, WI 53142. Checks should be made to James Gonzalez III.
