Hildegard Nelson (1925 – 2005)

Hildegarde A. Nelson, age 80 a resident of Racine, died Wednesday April 27 2005 at her residence.

Born on February 7, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Cornielius and Clara (Dykstra) Blankman.

A lifelong Racine resident, she was educated in the schools of Racine and graduated from Horlick High School.

On September 25, 1948 she married Carl Roy Nelson in Racine.

She was employed at Webster Electric for many years. She retired in the late 1980?s from Lakeside Vending.

She was a longtime member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Racine. She loved symphony music and attended many concerts in both Racine and Kenosha. She was a season ticket holder at The Fireside Dinner Theatre and loved the performances. She was an outstanding cook and enjoyed preparing large meals for her family. She was always known as one would care for others, and will be sadly missed by her loving and friends.

She is survived by her husband of Racine; one son Scott J. Nelson (and his fianc?e Laurie Reidenbach) of Racine; one daughter Linda (Gary Whitmore) Andersen of Burlington WI; two grandchildren Jason (Sarah Alton) Andersen of Racine; Jennifer Andersen of Union Grove and two great grandchildren; Logyn and Jaydon.

Her parents and one brother John Blankman preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nelson will be held on Saturday April 30, 2005 at Atonement Lutheran Church at 11:00AM in Racine. (2915-Wright Avenue) Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of services. Burial will take place on Monday May 2, 2005 at 10:00AM at Southern WI Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Atonement Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
