Esther Finnegan (1905 – 2005)

Esther E. Finnegan, age 100 a resident of Kenosha died Wednesday June 15, 2005 at her residence at Alterra Wynwood in Kenosha.

Born on January 5, 1905 in Rugby North Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Andrew H. and Sofia(Olsson)Oksendahl.

She was educated in the schools of North Dakota.

On November 8, 1931 she married John P. Finnegan in Rugby North Dakota.

She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Appleton WI and was very active in church groups including the Women?s Circle. She also enjoyed sewing very much.

She would often reminisce about growing up in North Dakota and cherished those special memories.

She lived independently up to a few weeks before her death.

She is survived by one son; Robert J.(Elfriede)Finnegan of Kenosha; three daughters; Corrine (Donald) Maycher of The Villages, FL, Patricia Finnegan of Sausalito CA, Susan (Erik) Driessen of Cedar Rapids IA, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers Andrew and Ferdinand and four sisters Selma Hamilton, Victoria Miklas, Viola, and Alice in infancy.

A service for Esther will be held on Monday June 20, 2005 at 11:00AM at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Appleton WI. (3131 N. Richmond St.) Visitation will be on Monday at the cemetery chapel from 10:30AM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Hospice Alliance.
