Dorothy Besch

Dorothy Therese Besch (nee Cicchini), 93, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2018 at Hospice Alliance Hospice House with her family by her side. Born in Kenosha on February 28, 1925, she was the daughter of the late S. James and Julia (Ryan) Cicchini. She was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and attended St. Thomas School and graduated from Bradford High School.

On January 11, 1947 she married the boy next door, Paul William Besch Sr. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper and office manager at Kelsey Welding, Holms Manufacturing, Kenosha Paving and Construction, and Cicchini Asphalt Paving Inc.

A longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Dorothy enjoyed knitting, bowling, Bingo, and word search puzzles. While a lifelong major league baseball fan, she always rooted for her Chicago Cubs first.
Surviving are her three sons: Paul W. Besch Jr. (Robert Severns) of Elk Grove Village, IL, Timothy M. Besch (Donna Sandberg) of Kenosha and William C. Besch of Milton; two grandchildren Christopher and Tina; two sisters Madeline Cardinali and Lorraine Cicchini; over 100 nieces, nephews, cousins, and the Caring Solutions Family (Julie LaMacchia, Moriah, Dee, Rachelle, Sadie, Kaleigh, and Alexa).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sr.; a grandson, Steven; two sisters, Frances Presta and Lucille Cicchini and three brothers, Tim, Louis, and Herman Cicchini.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (7307 – 40th Avenue) with entombment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church from 10:00 A.M., until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance would be appreciated by the family.

The family has requested that visitors be attired in your favorite sweatshirt (for Dorothy’s love of sweatshirts) or baseball team apparel or Cub colors (in honor of her love of baseball and the Chicago Cubs).
