Alyce McGibany (1920 – 2006)

Alyce McGibany, age 85 a resident of Kenosha, died Monday March 27, 2006 at United Hospital Systems Kenosha Medical Center.

Born on August 16, 1920 in Chicago IL, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Demos) Alex. She was educated in the schools of Chicago.

On February 8, 1946 in Chicago she married Carl W. McGibany. Together they moved to the Kenosha area in 1950.

She worked as a homemaker her entire life. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kenosha. She loved cross word puzzles.

She is survived by her husband Carl of Kenosha; three sons, Alex McGibany of Kenosha, Jim (Carole) McGibany of Menomonee Falls WI, Dan McGibany of Chicago IL; three grandchildren Sloan, Brandon, and Sean and one great-grandson Cody. She is further survived by two brothers; Peter (Diana) Alex of Chicago; Jim Alex of Prospect Heights IL; one sister Irene Athan of North Hollywood CA; sister-in-law Opal (Joe) Ruhle of Kenosha; sister-in-law Rosalie McGibany of Kenosha; sister-in-law Katherine Alex of Chicago IL; sister-in-law Nancy Alex of Des Plaines IL; brother in law Dan Bruno of Buffalo Grove IL; sister-in-law Lu Alex of Des Plaines IL; and many nieces and nephews, and a special friend Sue Zervos.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Mike Alex; two sisters Diana (Sam) Rombakis, Angie Bruno, and two brothers-in-laws Sam Athan and Wayne McGibany.

Funeral services for Alyce will be held on Thursday March 30, 2006 at 11:00AM at First Presbyterian Church in Kenosha. (1803-83rd Street) Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 9:00AM until the time of services. Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove IL on Friday March 31, 2006 at 11:00AM. (2905-North Thatcher Road)

In lieu of flowers memorials to either the United Arthritis Association or the Osteoporosis Foundation would be appreciated.
