We are amoung the many neighbors that Ray helped over the years. Ray also offered to help take care of my mother when she was in our care. He loved my parents and was so excited when they would come for a visit from N.C. There are many memories and will forever be grateful to him for his love and kindness. Rest in peace Ray. ❤

  • Toni Scott says:

I’m one of his granddaughters that lives in Tennessee. I wish like anything that we could be there for the funeral. I loved this man more than you could ever imagine. Love my family and praying for the ones that can and cant be there during this time of grief.

  • Lisa Anderson says:

I am greatful for the times that I spent as a child at the Abston house. They were always so kind to me and we spent countless hours walking around the block with Ginny and my mom and the kids. My parents spent 40 years in that neighborhood. I remember I always thought the Abstons were rich because they always had soda in the house. lol. Many years later when all of the kids were grown and my father had passed and my mother was not well, Ray used to cut her lawn and they would chit chat on the back porch for hours as my uncle tended the garden. He was such a great guy to all who lived in the neighborhood. Wishing peace and comfort to the family and many happy memories along the way.

  • Kristina Scheppa says:

You will be missed Grandpa Ray. Nathan and Allison will miss their Pa. You were a huge part of my life and the rest Donna’s families lives too, even though we were not mentioned. We love you and you are now at peace.

  • David (Butch) Castile says:

    Just for the record.
Laura you are a sorry person for how you left my family out of the obituary and to not mention any of us in the eulogy.
