Shirley I. Ferber, age 81 a resident of Burlington passed peacefully in her sleep Thursday August 11th 2016 at Arbor View Community in Burlington WI.

Shirley was born in Milwaukee on August 31st, 1934 to Bernard and Dorothy (Schwade) Pollock.

After high school, Shirley met a nice boy named Mike at a dance. She and Myron “Mike” Ferber were married on June 13th, 1953 and they were blessed to have three children, Barbara, Alan and Debbie. Shirley and Mike owned Ferber Farms in the Waterford area and Shirley was an amazing partner to her husband. They both loved dairy farming with their son Alan.

Shirley loved the Green Bay Packers, snowmobiling and playing the accordion, but her favorite activity by far, was spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Waterford.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Barbara Bennett of Burlington, Alan (Barbara) Ferber of Somers, and Debbie (Gary) Latus of Naperville IL as well as her beloved grandchildren, Lisa (Frank) Grzesk, Shannon (Michelle) Bennett, Tiffany (Nickolas) Hanna, Mandy Ferber, Jaymie (Dan) Jorgenson, Geena (Pablo) Palos, Nicholas (Betsy) Latus, Kyle (Nikki) Latus and by her great grandchildren, Frankie, Charlotte, Evelyn, Violet, Anthony, Andrew, Olivia, Jack, Hudson, Bridget and Brody. She is further survived by her sister Lois Stitch of Milwaukee, and sister-in-law Audrey Wigand of West Allis.

Preceding Shirley in death were her parents, her sister-in-law Myrtle Ferber, her daughter-in-law Laurie,  her husband Mike in 2011, and her son-in-law Scott Bennett.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 18th 2016 at 11:00AM at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Waterford WI. (145-S. 6th Street Waterford WI 53185) Visitation with the family will be on Thursday at the church from 10:00AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery in Waterford WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to either Arbor View Assisted Living or to the family would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank all of the nursing staff and administration at Arbor View Assisted Living for their special care.
