Shirley Danbeck (1942 – 2010)

Shirley M. “Mema” Danbeck age 67 a resident of Kenosha, died Monday April 12, 2010 at her residence while surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 13 1942 in Chelsea WI she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Geitner) Bahr. She was educated in the schools of Marshfield WI.

On June 13 1964 she married Robert “Bob” Danbeck in West Allis at Holy Assumption Catholic Church.

She was a homemaker in her own home, but was also employed in customer service at Thrift Drugs, Leda Manufacturing and Dallas-Mavis Transport. She retired from Dallas-Mavis.

She was an active member of St. Therese Catholic Church for many years. She was an avid bowler and participated in many area leagues. She loved cooking and gardening and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She also loved traveling to area casinos with her husband and dear friend, Phyllis.

She is survived by one daughter Dawn (Eric) Bethke of Pleasant Prairie, and four grandchildren; Raymond, Robin, Rebecca and Riley Bethke. She is further survived by one brother Edward Bahr of Florida, one ½ brother Allen Monheim of Beaver Dam WI, three sisters Maryann Monheim of Hebron IL, Betty ( Ira) Wozniak of Sauk City WI Patricia (Dale) Keil of Mauston WI and one ½ sister Sharon Jones of Mazomane WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, and two brothers John Bahr Jr. and Donald Bahr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday April 15th 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church. (9005-22nd Avenue) Visitation will be on Thursday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of mass. Burial will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to the ALS Association. (The ALS Association, 27001 Agoura Road Suite #250 Calabasas CA 91310)
