Paula Anthony (1963 – 2010)

Sunrise for Paula Maria Owens Anthony began on the 25th of July 1963 in Chicago Illinois. Paula was the second of three children born to Pryor Noel Owens II, and Quemolia Edith Harris Owens both whom preceded her in death.

Paula gave her heart to the Lord as a child. Paula had a great love of life, and it showed in everything that she did and her beautiful smile. Paula was also an accomplished author with her book titled, “The Windy City”, which is still available online.

Paula attended and graduated from Canterbury Jr. High in Markham Illinois and Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills Illinois. Paula was very active in Track, Cheerleading, Softball, and Drama. Paula also served as Hillcrest High school’s mascot, the HAWK for one year. Paula attended Bradley University in Peoria Illinois and DePaul University in Chicago Illinois. While in college, Paula was a KAPPA SWEETHEART and a Q-Pearl.

Paula had a vast and productive career working as an administrative secretary for Montgomery Wards, Andersen Consulting, and Amoco in their contracting division. Paula continued to work until her health failed.

Paula married Russell Robert Anthony in 1991 and to the union two children were nurtured, Bianca Anthony and Russell Noel Anthony.

God called Paula home to rest on January 3rd 2010.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

Sisters in heart Arlie Cherry Coleman, Ingrid Jackson Johnson, and Debbie Taylor Moore. Nieces/Nephews: Steven Darnell Hill, Christina Marie Stevens, David Brian Stevens, William Michael Stevens, MoniQue Grace Stevens, and her niece of the heart Nina Marie Coleman, along with her Grandnephew Owen Harrison Fawcett.Aunts/Uncles: Mearldean Langford, Texas Harris, Apreal Williamson, Former IL State Rep.Willis Harris, Clarence Noel Owens, Willie Noel Payne, and Shirley Featherstone.Cousins: Herbert Cherry, Angela Spears, Harold Spears Jr., Charles Cherry Jr., Darrell Spears (Giselle), Terrance Harris, Cynthia Lewis (Keith), Arnold Cherry, James Williamson, Kenneth Cherry (Nicole), Fredrick Cherry (Gretchen), Robin McGill, (George), Willis Harris III., Tonya Owens, Clarence Noel Owens Jr., Keith Owens, Renee Payne, Trimayne Payne, Shalom Featherstone, Christopher Featherstone, Lloyd Atkins Jr. Felicia Atkins, Antwon Atkins, April Payne, Shelly Payne Garama (Ruta), Patricia Payne, Golden Noel Payne III, and Patricia Hunter.

In addition, Paula leaves to mourn countless friends and the entire staff at Sheridan Medical Complex in Kenosha Wisconsin.

The family would also like to thank Hospice Alliance for their loving care.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 9th 2010 at 11:00AM at First Assembly of God Church in Kenosha. (10700-75th Street) Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 10:00AM until the time of services.
