Margaret K. (Katrosits) Morrison

Margaret (Maggie) Kathryn Morrison, age 84, passed away September 23, 2014 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  She was born in Racine, Wisconsin on October 20, 1929, daughter of the late William and Victoria (nee: Magditch) Katrosits.  After graduation from St. Catherine’s High School, Maggie was employed by Western Printing and Publishing.

On February 2, 1952, Maggie was united in marriage with the love of her life, Earl James Morrison, who preceded her in death on January 25, 1976.  Maggie and Earl raised two daughters Mary Jo (David) Jensen of Kalamazoo, MI and Carole (David) Hunt of Kirkwood, MO.  She was employed by the State of Wisconsin for many years and retired in 1987.   Almost five years ago she moved from Kenosha to Michigan to be closer to family.

Maggie adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.  Besides her daughters and sons-in-law she is survived by five grandchildren:  Megan Jensen (Rich Shuma) of San Jose, CA,   Matthew Jensen of Kenosha, Cpl. Michael Jensen USMC, of Washington, D.C., Colin Hunt of St. Louis, MO and Katharine Hunt of Kirkwood, MO, as well as nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her sisters Pauline, Rose, Alma and Mary; and brothers Steve and Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 7307 40th Avenue, Kenosha, WI.  Interment will be held at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 9:00 a.m. until Mass at St. Mary’s.

    Your mom was a wonderful person, who I picture always with a smile. Among our good times, I remember our Easter bonnet contest, and your trip to Arizona. It was my honor to know her.

    Although I didn’t know your mom, from what I can tell, she did a pretty wonderful job raising two beautiful girls be strong, loving wives, mothers and friends. She had a lot to be proud of with you both and you are a beautiful reflection on her life and legacy.
