Kenneth Hackbarth

Kenneth Hackbarth, age 88 a resident of Kenosha, died Wednesday February 4th 2015 at St. Catherine’s Hospital.

Ken was born in Bristolon June 25th, 1926 to Arthur and Florence (Krahn) Hackbarth. He was educated in the schools of Bristol and graduated from Wilmot High School. On June 7th, 1952, he was united in marriage with Violet Campbell in Gays Mills WI.

Ken was a long time member of Journey Church (formally known as Kenosha First Assembly of God). He made his living as a heating technician and worked for many years at Davis Heating Company. He was mechanically inclined like his father and brothers. Ken was known for his firm handshake and tender heart, helping many in their time of need. Many family trips resulted from Ken first reading about historical places. Spending time with family and friends was very important to him, especially at Christmas time when his grandchildren would gather around the player piano to play and sing family favorites.

Surviving Ken is his wife of 62 years Violet Hackbarth of Kenosha; his sons David (Paulette), Mark (Nancy), and Brian (Elizabeth) all of Kenosha and his daughter Beth Ann (Dale) Jensen of Springfield MO. He is further survived by his grandchildren Trevor Brooks, Lee (Wendy) Bezotte, Dana (Steven “Bubba”) Johnson, Amy (Brett Loeffler) Andreucci, Chelsea (Liviu) Ghigeanu, Kenny (Katie) Hackbarth, Aimee (Nic) Thompson, Annie (Jason) Piker, Abbey (Jason) Lundy, Ashley (Edward) Fudacz and Alyssa (Vincent) Nolden, by his 12 great grandchildren and by his brother Bernard (Janet) Hackbarth of Lake Geneva.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Donald and two sisters, Joyce and Margery.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday February 8th 2015 at 7:00PM at Journey Church in Kenosha. (10700-75th Street) Visitation with the family will be on Sunday at the church from 5:30 PM until the time of services. Burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
