Joseph Ruhle

Joseph August Ruhle, 92, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 14, 2016. He was born in Laclede, Idaho on September 8, 1923, the son of the late Joseph and Theresa Ruhle. He moved to Kenosha in 1929.

 

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946 and was especially proud to have served under General George S. Patton during the World War II Battle of the Bulge.

 

On September 7, 1946 he married the love of his life, Opal Mae Mc Gibany. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. In 1947, he graduated from the College of Commerce with a degree in Business Management. He was employed at American Motors/Chrysler until retiring from the Accounting Department in 1989.

 

Joe served on the American Motors Credit Union Board from 1953-1988. He was also a member of the National Association of Accountants, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 1865, R.S.V.P. volunteer group and various other organizations.

 

He enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, fishing, golfing, gardening, riding his bike, and going to the library. He was an avid fan of the Brewers and the Packers.  He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a great source of pride and he enjoyed watching them in all of their activities.

 

Along with his wife, Opal, he is survived by his children Linda (Gene) Schulz of Yorkville Wisconsin, Gary (Patti) Ruhle of Greenville Wisconsin, Dennis (Nancy) Ruhle of Kenosha. He is further survived by his grandchildren Kari (John) Andreoli, Denise Schulz, Traci Flitsch, Ryan (Piaky) Ruhle, Devon Ruhle, Marin (Max) Zbilut, Joseph Ruhle; great grandchildren, Jared, Khloe, Brendan, Mallory, Ashton, Tyler, Skylar, and Damien.

 

He is also survived by his siblings George Ruhle, Edna Pringle, Betty Weinberger, and Eugene Ruhle. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Adolph Ruhle, Elizabeth Drah, Lydia Badham, and Bertha Hillesland.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 21st 2016 at 12:00 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church. (2020-91st) Visitation with the family will be on Saturday at the church from 10:30AM until the time of mass. Burial will take place on Monday at 11:00AM at the Southern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.

In lieu of flowers memorials to either Hospice Alliance, Kenosha Area Family & Aging Services or the Kenosha Public Library Foundation would be appreciated.
