Jessie Steen (1914 – 2005)

Jessie M. Steen, age 91 a resident of Kenosha died Thursday June 16, 2005 at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.

Born on February 15, 1914 in Necedah WI she was the daughter of the late Edward H. and Lottie May (Pray) Jameson.

She was educated in the schools of Necedah, WI.

On February 29, 1936 in Necedah, she married Arthur A. Steen. They moved to Elkhorn WI in 1979. They then moved to Kenosha in 1989. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1997.

She was member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kenosha.

She was beloved mother of sons Hilbert E. (Mary) Steen of Elkhorn; John A. (Melanie) Steen of Omro WI , daughters Margaret I. Norris of Greenfield and Mary L. (Jerry) Werwie of Kenosha. She was dear grandmother of Michael and Chad Steen; Laura McBain; Susan Olson; Jennifer Brower; Staci, Scott and Kevin Steen; Eric, Timothy and Jenny Werwie, 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She is further survived by one brother Charles E. (Helen) Jameson of Necedah and one sister; Marcella A.(Galen) Crain of Iuka IL.

Her husband, her parents, one brother Homer Jameson and one sister Dorothy G. Gibbs preceded her in death.

A Memorial Mass for Jessie will be celebrated on Wednesday June 22, 2005 at 11:00AM at Holy Rosary Church in Kenosha. (22nd Avenue and 45th Street). Visitation with the family will on Wednesday at the church from 10:00AM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated.
