James M. Jensen Sr

James M. Jensen Sr., age 77, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully surrounded by his devoted wife and loving children on Tuesday July 19, 2016 at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha.

The only child of Harry and Hermina (Mohr) Jensen, he was born in Kenoshaon February 1st, 1939.

On April 22nd, 1961, he married the love of his life and childhood sweetheart Kathryn F. (Rezny) Jensen and they enjoyed 55 wonderful years of marriage. They loved spending time together and had the same interests and hobbies. Jim’s passions included model railroading, camping and gardening.

In his younger years, Jim was a TV engineer for Duke’s Electronics. For over the last 30 years he was a successful self-employed business owner. He was highly skilled in electronics, accounting, wood working and landscaping.

Jim served his country in the U.S. Army and National Guard. He was a devout Catholic as well as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Jim served as church treasurer, as an usher and he volunteered for all church functions. Jim loved family get-togethers and he made sure that there were a lot of them.

Jim is survived by his wife Kay Jensen of Kenosha, his two sons James M. Jensen Jr. of Kenosha and Jeffrey M. Jensen of Pleasant Prairie and his four daughters, Susan K. Jensen of Pleasant Prairie, Amy (James) Cole of Kenosha, Jody M. Jensen of Mt. Pleasant and Jill T. Jensen of Kenosha. He is further survived by 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday July 23rd 2016 at 10:00AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (2223-51st St). Visitation will be held at the church from 8:30AM until the time of the Mass. Burial with full military honors will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family or to St. Anthony’s Church would be appreciated.
