Chester Zdanowicz

          Chester C. Zdanowicz, age 92 a resident of Kenosha, died Sunday July 13th 2014 at the Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.

          Chester was born in Kenosha on November 28, 1922. He was the son the late Jan and Apolonia (Wohlman) Zdanowicz. He was a lifelong resident of Kenosha and attended St. Casimir’s School. Chet was very proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

          On September 28, 1946, he was united in marriage with Doris Loraine “Lori” Burby at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church. Chet was employed at MacWhyte Wire Rope Company; retiring in 1979. They moved to WoodruffWI and opened up C & L Sports Bar. They returned to Kenosha in 1993.

          Chet belonged to St. Therese Catholic Church. He was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed his trips to Potawatomi Casino.

          Chet is survived by his wife Lori; by his three sons Lawrence Zdanowicz of Kenosha, Theodore Zdanowicz (Laurie) of Woodruff and Richard Zdanowicz (Roxanne) of Kenosha and by one daughter, Jessica Zdanowicz of Racine. In addition also seven Grand Children, five Great Grand Children and one Great Great Grand Child. He is further survived by one brother Edwin Grudzinski of Woodruff and two sisters, Stella Lutz of Silver Lake and Rose Ryback of Sturtevant.

          Chet was preceded in death by his parents, by his step-father John Grudzinski, by four sisters Irene Homs, Helen Bruenning, Eleanor Littleton and Mary Ann Grudzinski, and by three brothers, Casimir Zdanowicz, John Zdanowicz and Aloyoius Zdanowicz in infancy. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Audrey in infancy and by many nieces and nephews.

 

          A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday July 21st 2014 at 11:00AM at St. Therese Catholic Church in Kenosha. (2020-91 street) Visitation with the family will take place on Monday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of mass. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Casmir’s CatholicCemetery.

          In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance would be appreciated.
