Betty Dowe

Betty Ann Dowe, 89, of Kenosha, passed peacefully Friday, February 3, 2017 at Brookside Care Center.

Born on November 25, 1927, in Schram City, Illinois she was the daughter of Antone and Anna (Hrebik) Bellaver. At age one, the family moved to Kenosha. She attended local schools and graduated from Kenosha High School.

On May 3, 1947, she married Albert Dowe at St. James Catholic Church. Betty worked at Simmons and Milk Producers, prior to 20 years in the office at J. C. Penney, then Bardens and late in life at Bullen Middle School in Food Services. She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling in a couples league sponsored by Dowe Linoleum and Carpet. Betty and Al enjoyed card playing, camping and family summers at Lily Lake. They also attended sporting events of their grandchildren. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewer and Green Bay Packer fan as well.

Betty is survived by her four children; Alan and Nancy (Burg) Dowe of Green Bay, Nancy and Jerry Montemurro, Donald and Valerie (Huetten) Dowe, Richard and Catherine (Muhlenbeck) Dowe.  Eight grandchildren; Melinda (Brian) Morris, Tracy (David) Armstrong, Jamie (Michael) Johnson, Kevin (Tawny) Dowe, Dana (Kevin) Herman, Chad (Shannon Andrews) Dowe, Julie Dowe, Crystal (Matthew) Feivor. Eight great-grandchildren; Rachel, Tenley, Morgan,  Mackenzie, Benjamin, Jacob, Castin and Audrey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister; Mary Helen Pietrangeli and twin granddaughters; Michelle and Melissa.

 

          A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Kenosha. (7117-14th Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Thursday at the church from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Friday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of mass. Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Betty’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff at Brookside Care Center.
